– The Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Minister of Transport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser
The agreement concerns cooperation in the fields of maritime transport and port development, and strengthens the strategic relationship and deep cooperation between the two countries.The new partnership focuses specifically on developing port infrastructure, improving maritime transport services, encouraging investment and exchanging experiences and technical knowledge
Officials from both sides indicated that this agreement will play a major role in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of Somali ports, increasing maritime trade connectivity, and strengthening Somalia’s role in the strategic waterways of the region.
Also, the agreement is expected to directly contribute to the growth of the national economy and the creation of sustainable development opportunities, by strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Somalia and Saudi Arabia.
