The Puntland State today withdrew units of the defense force from the city of Dhahar, sanaag region, which had been in the city center for the past few days.
The PMPF forces, which are armed with 10 armored vehicles, returned to Bosaso, the capital of Bari region, today.The forces arrived in Dhahar on July 12 to reinforce the Dawish forces in Sanaag region, which were engaged in fighting between forces loyal to DFS politicians who hold positions as part of the KHATUMO administration.
Local elders succeeded in calming the tension and separating the two forces, with the security of the city being handed over to the Local Forces.
